Duke Divinity School Summer Institute

The Ministry of Reconciliation in a Divided World
Presented by the Duke Divinity School Center for Reconciliation

June 2 - 7, 2014

Rooted in a Christian vision, this one-of-a-kind, intensive Institute nourishes, renews and deepens the capacities of US and international Christian leaders in the ministry of reconciliation, justice, and peace-building. The Summer Institute creates a vibrant learning community of diverse peers and offers opportunities for invigorating and enriching conversations with a world-class faculty of theologians and ministry practitioners. You will experience in-depth teaching, prayer and worship, shared meals, wrestling with real-world contexts and challenges, and an opportunity to reflect on your own vocation and setting.

This Institute is designed to serve Christians engaged in grassroots ministries and social agencies, development and peace-building, ministry within congregations, pastoral and lay leadership, ministry and community-building across social and economic divides, university or seminary teaching or administration, parachurch ministries, social entrepreneurship, or denominational leadership. We encourage groups from communities, churches, ministries, and institutions to come together.

Intensive seminar tracks will be offered for participants at all levels of experience in reconciliation work, from introductory to leadership level. No matter your level of experience with reconciliation work, you will find a place to learn and new companions for the journey.
